News for the Week of September 12
Dear Upper School Community,
The students are dashing, albeit a bit slower in this heat, to their classes as I write this. The word in the halls is that the year is off to a great start. We have a thoughtful and spirited group of new students and faculty who are adding a buzz to the community.
I want to remind you that under the new advisory program your child's advisor is your primary contact person if you have a question. If an issue is more complicated, you may reach out to the grade level deans, who are Nancy Anderson (gr. 9) and Carrie Dilmore (gr. 10). If there is a larger concern for gr. 11-12, please contact Marc Thiebach, Assistant Head of Upper School. Of course, I am also available to help along the way.
Please do remember to check out the PA newsletter which has a variety of important information concerning projects, events, and volunteer opportunities for you.

WATCH FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS LATER IN THE YEAR FOR WINTER CLASSES IN PREPARATION FOR SPRING ACT AND SAT
We have gone over the new parking format with the juniors and seniors. Our goal is to guarantee student safety; therefore, we reconfigured the parking pattern to ensure that each senior and junior has a place on campus. We felt so strongly about this that a number of faculty and staff (including me) are parking off campus. And just as importantly we have preserved senior parking.
To ensure that we are all adhering to the proper configuration, we have instituted a parking lot violation program. If a car is parked in a fire lane or disabled spot, there will be a fine beginning at $25. Additional offences will lead to higher fines and disciplinary action. Our goal is for all to understand that the fire lane must always be empty and the disabled parking is only being used by those that have the proper approval.
