News for the Week of January 15
Dear Upper School Families,
As part of our goal to bring global conscientious to our community, we have a group of students who have been invited to attend a special presentation with Vietnam napalm survivor Kim arrange in Santa Barbara. She is the young girl in the classic Life photograph which shows terrified children running from their village during the Vietnam War. It should be a powerful presentation, and we are pleased that Eric Taylor and Tom Crowley from the Social Studies department are able to arrange this special opportunity for our students.
I am also pleased to announce that our very own W.A.R. (We Are Robot) Lords have started designing the robot for this year's FIRST Robotics Competition. It is an especially tricky game this year (please see the below link), but I have every confidence that they will do a stellar job.

As I write this, we are getting ready for the first annual Linda Vista v. Mission Valley campus soccer match this evening. It should be a hoot. Personally, I have not played soccer in thirty-five years when I was on the Blue Team, and we lost to the mighty Yellow Team. This evening will be pay back time. Have a great week!
Best,
Paul
