Senior Year-End Events By Date

April 28: Prom (Bollywood theme) Grades 10, 11, 12

  • 5:30 - 11:00pm at the Westin Gaslamp, 910 Broadway Circle
  • Tickets (include dinner and dance) available April 16-20 for $80 and April 23-25 for $85. The last day to purchase tickets is April 25. Tickets will be on sale during lunch in front of ASB room. Tickets are not for sale at the door on the day of event. 
  • Dressy/semi-formal attire 
  • 5:30 - 6:30pm arrival and photos
  • 6:30 - 8:00pm dinner
  • No admittance after 6:30pm
  • 8:00 - 11:00pm dance  

April 30 - May 4: Sign-Up for Senior Interviews (MANDATORY)

Seniors must sign up prior to May 4 for interviews to be conducted May 7 - May 30. Seniors may sign up to meet with one of the following: Mr. Barsky, Mr. Roudebush, Mr. Thiebach, Ms. Devine, Ms. Santiago, Mr. Hurley, Ms. Anderson, or Mrs. Dilmore.

Interviews will last 30 minutes.

May 7 - May 18: AP Exams

Dress Code/Rules:  School attire or comfortable clothing; however, no bathing suits, halters or revealing clothing, and no cell phones, or any other electronic devices other than allowed specifically by teacher. AP exam times and places TBA.

May 18: Last Day of Regular Classes for Seniors 

May 21 - May 22: Arts Night 5:30 - 9:00pm

May 21 - May 23: Non-AP Class Final Exams for Seniors

  • Finals all day
  • Specific finals TBA

May 23 - May 24: Disneyland Grad Night 

  • 1:00pm - 3:00am
  • Charter bus leaves at 1:00pm
  • Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park. Seniors receive a Park-Hopper Ticket good for normal park operating hours; once Disneyland Park closes, Grad Nite continues with a dance party and an exclusive showing of Fantasmic.
  • Not allowed in the park:
  • Any clothing affiliated with a school, sports team, group, club, etc. (i.e. letterman jackets, clothing with school logos, etc.)
  • Clothing not in good repair (torn jeans, shirts, etc.). Jeans are OK as long as they are not ripped or torn.
  • Extremely revealing clothing (i.e. bathing suit tops or bottoms, see-through clothing, etc.)
  • Hats (official Disneyland merchandise acceptable) and other head attire, including beanies and wigs.
  • All backpacks, briefcases, hip packs, camera bags, tote bags, and oversized purses larger than 8 ½ X 11”. Small purses and fanny packs are OK.
  • Cameras, cell phones, and pagers are OK. Camera and cell phone cases are not allowed.
  • Shoes with skate wheels are not allowed.  Tennis shoes and sandals are OK.
  • Weapons, knives, chemical irritants of any kind, laser pointers
  • Prescription  medication (inhalers are OK)
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Tobacco products (cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, snuff, etc.) and related materials (lighters, matches, pipes, etc.)
  • Alcohol or any controlled substance
  • Bandanas (either worn or hanging from belt loops/pockets etc.)
  • Glass containers and/or fluids of any kind. This includes water, any drinks and perfumes
  • Snack items include but are not limited to gum/mints/candy (no candy containers)
  • Spiked style jewelry or belts
  • Aerosol cans/bottles
  • Disney will deny admission if the above guidelines are not followed.

May 25: Seniors off-campus

May 28: Skateworld

  • 6:00 - 8:00pm
  • Skateworld, Linda Vista Road

May 29: Spring Sports Banquet

  • Last sports banquet of the year 
  • 6:00pm check-in, Hillgren Court in Parker Field House

May 29 - 30:  Transition to College Sessions (MANDATORY)

Transition to Colleges Sessions will include:

  • College 101 (Presented by USD Dean of Students)
  • Planning the College Academic Schedule (Clare Harrington, UCSD Academic Advisor)
  • Taking Care of Yourself in College (cooking, laundry, reducing stress)
  • Managing Your Money in College (Mary Taylor--Parker parent and financial planner)
  • Health and Safety in College

  • Graduation gowns and caps will be in alpha order for graduates in the Field House (no parents please)
  • No shorts or swim attire, no sun glasses, no flip-flops, no visible tattoos, no unnatural hair dyes, no leis, no pins or cords other than those awarded by the School

June 2: Parker Grad Night

11:00 pm - 5:00am

The Twelfth Night Grad Night Committee has planned a fun-filled night for 2012 Parker graduates. Non-stop music, dancing, video games, casino, photo booth, as well as special treats. The Grad Night Party is for Parker graduates only, sorry no guests.

Students may not drive themselves to or from Grad Night. Parents must plan to pick their students up Sunday morning. Students need to be dropped off at the school between 11:00pm and 11:30pm 

No senior graduate will be allowed in after 11:30pm  

If a senior graduate leaves early, he/she must be picked up by a parent and will not be allowed to return to the party.

June 9: Parker Alumni Reunions

  • including our recently graduated class of 2012
  • 10:00am - 3:00pm
  • Linda Vista campus
  • Alumni from the classes 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007 and a combined reunion dinner for all alumni from the 1970s and earlier.

Senior Parent Dinner

Kevin Yaley, Head of School, cordially invites senior parents to the annual Senior Parent Dinner in honor of the Class of 2012.

Commencement--June 2, 2012

Commencement Announcements:  will be distributed to seniors the week of April 23. Seniors will be notified as soon as the announcements arrive, and will be available for students to pick up in the Upper School Office. Each senior will receive a set of 25 personalized announcements and envelopes; additional sets may be ordered directly from Josten's. Caps and Gowns:

Commencement Parking:  Parent and guest parking is available in the County Office of Education lot on Linda Vista Road. The gate between the County Education Center and Parker will be open for easy access to campus.  For those who need assistance, a cart will transport guests from the County Office of Education parking lot to the Commencement lawn. Handicap parking will be available in the Faculty parking lot (driveway between Parker and County Office of Education. The main campus lot is for graduates, faculty and contractors only.

Seating:  Guest seating cannot be reserved prior to 2:00pm. If you wish to save seats, you must stay with those seats prior to the ceremony. Any seating saved with tape or notes without a person from your party present will be removed.

During the Ceremony: Parents and guests are requested to respect any cordoned-off areas.  Only the School’s photographer and videographer have access to those areas. 


Commencement Photo/Video Information

Photography: The School has contracted Olga Gunn Photography for all official Commencement photography. You may download this order form to pre-order/purchase a variety of available portrait packages. Kindly make checks payable to Olga Gunn Photography and send to directly to the studio (address is indicated on the form), or plan to bring the form and a check with you to Commencement.

  • Candid Photos will be taken during the ceremony and will be available online for purchase approximately 2 weeks following Commencement. That link will be sent to all senior families as soon as it becomes available.
  • Graduates Receiving Diplomas--each individual graduate will be photographed as he or she receives the Diploma from Mr. Yaley. You may pre-order this photo.
  • Class, Cum Laude and Lifer Portraits--will be taken prior to the ceremony; you may pre-order these portraits.
  • Graduate, Family and Friends Portraits--Olga Gunn Photography will be available in the Lawrence Middle School Commons immediately following the Commencement ceremony until 7:00pm for portrait sittings of your choosing. Download the order form for additional information.

Video:  Video will be taken of the Commencement ceremony and each graduate receiving their diploma by Signature Video. Download the order form here. DVDs are $40 each prior to June 1, $45 after that date. You will receive your DVD in 4-8 weeks.
