Welcome to Middle School
While 1912 is the birth-year of our school, the decision to craft a distinct Middle School Division occurred in 1986 when a group of forward looking educators bravely moved sixth grade from our historic Mission Hills Lower School campus to our Upper School campus in Linda Vista. This bold and innovative decision has been a benefit to the Parker Community ever since.
The founding members of our Middle School envisioned a learning environment that meets each student at his or her unique moment of development and recognizes the importance of creating a structure that transitions from the nurturing world of elementary school to the academically rigorous and increasingly independent world of high school. Today, the Middle School continues to embrace that vision as we live out Colonel Francis Parker’s belief in learning by doing and educating for character. As educators who practice “in the middle,” we genuinely appreciate and love Middle School students; we are inspired by and embrace the daily silliness and humor that are an essential part of the Middle School experience, and each day we meet our students to create with them an education that will serve them not only for high school and college, but for life.
On behalf of all of us here "in the middle," thank you parents for inviting us into this magic time as we partner with you in the growth and development of your child. To our students, we look forward to helping you develop the full range of your unique talents and gifts and then cheering loudly when you exceed all expectations. And for those of you visiting our site, welcome; we hope you find the information you are looking for, and please do not hesitate to contact us for a personal tour.
Sincerely,

Dan Lang
