As an Upper School English teacher, Michelle Adelman has taught 9th Grade Rhetoric, 10th Grade World Literature, and 12th Grade English (The Art and Craft of Writing). She has also taught Journalism, for which she has advised The Scribe, and has chaperoned multiple trips through the Global Studies program. She is currently the Senior Class Dean.
Prior to joining Parker in 2008, Adelman lived in New York City, where she taught undergraduate writing at Columbia University and tutored in the school's Writing Center. She also worked at The Cooper Union's Center for Writing and Language Arts as a consultant to undergraduate and graduate students. Before teaching, she worked in journalism, editing and writing for publications ranging from Time Out New York to The Sunday Business Post in Dublin, Ireland.
Adelman graduated from Northwestern University with a BS and an MS in Journalism, and earned her MFA in Writing from Columbia University. These days, she is grateful for the sunshine and quality of life she enjoys in San Diego. She also appreciates any spare time she can find to write.
