The IRC Youth Ambassador Program provides a unique opportunity for Upper School students to explore issues facing refugees through interactive and thought provoking activities. This year’s session will occur Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week, 1-5pm (July 9th-April 17th).
Throughout this six week program, participants will gain an understanding of international conflicts, engage in discussions with guest speakers, provide critical volunteer work, and meet other students from around San Diego County. Students will also have the opportunity to visit San Diego’s beaches, listen to the experiences of refugee teens, try new food, watch award-winning documentaries, and challenge themselves to think about their place as part of a global community.
The program is open to all Upper School school students with the exception of incoming freshman. The program is accepting applications until Monday, June 18th. Download the PDF Application here. Accepted applicants are asked to pay a $150 fee to cover program costs, although need-based scholarships are available.
