Summer is a great time to get started on preparation for the PSAT, SAT and ACT. The break provides time for relaxed preparation over a longer duration, which is easier on the students and more effective in the long run.
Both classes and individual tutoring are available. Individual tutoring is most easily scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and weekends.
Summer and fall classes are as follows:
July 31, 1:00 - 3:00pm, SAT Zinger Grammar $110
The grammar covered in the class is necessary material to master for the PSAT, SAT and ACT. Handouts will be provided.
August 1, 1:00 - 3:00pm, SAT Zinger Math $120
Zinger workbook will be provided. If your student excels at math, this class is for him/her. We will take the mystery out of the trickiest common SAT math problems. If your student has scored 57 or higher on the PSAT Math test, this class is ideal.
August 2, 1:00 - 3:00pm, SAT Critical Reading $110
Students will hear strategies to help them ace the reading portion of the SAT and practice with a variety of sample passages. Handouts, including vocabulary, will be provided.
August 3, 1:00 - 3:00pm, SAT versus ACT: Which test is better for you? $110
This is a workshop intended to educate students about the two tests. Differences between the tests will be clearly explained, and example problems and passages will be provided so that students can see for themselves how the differences feel when they take the test. The students will gather information that will help them later decide which test will be better for them.
August 4, 8:00am to noon and August 5, 9:00am to noon: Take a real SAT! $240
This is great preparation for fall PSAT and SAT takers. The test will be administered on Saturday, and results and explanations to hard problems in each section will be provided on Sunday.
