Walter Jackson, Executive Director of SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes (S4EA), writes, "SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes thanks Francis Parker School for [its] help at the Softball and Tennis Tournament on Sunday, September 9, at Morley Field in Balboa Park. 18 softball teams competed in seven divisions and 14 tennis athletes competed in singles and doubles competition.

On Sunday, September 30, The Save a Life Foundation is offering a free EKG to all high-school age students from Parker, Santa Fe Christian and Cathedral High. The event is being held at Cathedral High from 9:00am-3:00pm.

Congratulations to Parker's literary magazine, Bema, which was the recipient of multiple awards from this year's American Scholastic Press Association annual contest. This annual contest compares school yearbooks, magazines and newspapers.

Francis Parker School became the first school to qualify for the City of San Diego's food waste recycling, which turns food scraps into compost. The Greenery, located at the city's Miramar Landfill, received Parker's first load of compost on August 29 and future loads will total approximately two tons of food waste each week.
