Athletics is a key component of a Parker education. With at least 17 Upper School team and individual sports and 10 on the Middle School side, students enjoy a unique mix of learning, teamwork, leadership, social interaction and competition.
In 2013-14, Parker teams won a state title in girls volleyball, a Southern California regional crown in girls soccer and a CIF San Diego baseball championship.
Parker’s no-cut policy means that all students who want to play will make a team. We encourage students to compete in sports that may be new, so they may develop a lifelong love and understanding of sport and physical well-being.
Message from the Athletic Director
At Francis Parker School, we believe that athletics is an integral and valuable component of our students' overall educational experience. We educate student-athletes by providing participation opportunities in various sports and promoting the well-being of student-athlete. Through their participation, our student-athletes develop the skills necessary to help them in the classroom, in college and "as far as the mind can see."
We will accomplish this in three ways: First, by ensuring that our coaches understand that they are educators. Second, our student-athletes will understand that participation in athletics is a privilege, not a right, and will exhibit the behavior of model citizens. Third, and most important, the athletic department will strive to be a source of pride for our students, school and community.
We are Parker!
