Scholarship Endowment Funds

Irene F. Thuli Scholarship Fund
Established in the 1970s by Henry F. Lippitt, II as a tribute to his former teacher, Irene F. Thuli (Teacher, 1922-1929; Principal, 1930-1950). This fund provides support for Parker students.

Brandon Family Scholarship Endowment
Established in 1988 by the Milan Brandon family and Brandon Foundation, this fund provides financial assistance to support Upper School students' learning experience, as well as advance the mission of Parker.

Ellen Browning Scripps Foundation Scholarship Fund
Established in 1989, this fund provides both merit and need-based scholarship funds at all grade levels.

Alumni Scholarship Fund
Established by pre-1950s alumni as part of Parker’s 80th celebration, this fund supports need-based financial assistance at Parker.

Ethel Dummer Mintzer Scholarship Fund
Established in 1993 by Polly Mintzer Vaughan ’44 to honor her mother, the second principal of Francis Parker School (Teacher, 1918-1922; Principal, 1922-1929; Director, 1929-1938), this fund provides support for Parker students.

Senior Class Gift
The Senior Class Gift is a unique Parker tradition shared by the distinguished classes of 2013, 2012, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1997, 1995, and 1994 to support Parker’s Scholarship Endowment.

Adele Rice Foster ’23 Scholarship Fund
Established in 1995 by Adele Rice Foster ’23 with her gift to the Pooled Income Fund to support Parker students.

Mothers’ Club Scholarship Fund
Established in 1997 by the Mothers’ Club, this fund supports Parker students.

Falconer Scholarship Fund
Established in 1998 by the ’97-’98 Falconer class in recognition of the opportunities they received at Parker. This fund provides opportunities for future deserving students such that they have the same opportunities of the Falconer class.

Parents Association Scholarship Fund
Established in the early 1990s by the Francis Parker School Parents Association, this fund provides need-based scholarships, enabling students from all economic backgrounds to participate fully in campus life at Parker.

Robinson Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 1999 by Ruth Whitney Robinson ’35, this fund provides scholarship support for one Parker student.

Gert Koppel Holocaust Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund and the Gert Koppel Holocaust Memorial Scholars' Program
Established in 1999 by Gert Koppel in memory of the 1.5 million Jewish children killed by the Nazis during World War II. The program provides support for young ladies and gentlemen identified in the admissions process as students with special academic promise, motivation, and strength of character – youth whose admirable qualities will enrich school life, and later, society at large.

Pooled Scholarship Funds
These funds provide support for Parker students.

Judi Sinnott Endowed Scholarship and Sinnott Fund
Established in 2000 by Audrey Viterbi, Dan Smargon, Aaron Smargon ’07 and Michael Smargon '13, this fund provides general scholarship support to the Francis Parker Lower School and supports the Sinnott Merit Award given to an outstanding 5th grade student.

Violet Jacobs Scholarship Fund
Established in 2002 by Norman Hapke and Valerie Jacobs Hapke, and The Jacobs Family Foundation, this fund provides one full scholarship for a Parker student whose scholastic achievements, citizenship, and contributions to the School and community have earned this individual the distinction of being a Jacobs Scholar. Both Ben Rangel '11 and Marcus Jenkins '07 hold the distinction of being Jacobs Scholars.

Rosalind S. Harris Fund
Established in 2005 by the estate of Rosalind S. Harris, this fund supports exceptional students of Southeast Asian-lineage and/or educational opportunities in Asian languages and cultural studies.

David M. and Alice K. Miller Fund
Established in 2006 by David and Alice Miller, a multi-generational Parker family, to honor current and future Parker students. This fund supports student diversity, access, and inclusivity in the Upper School.

Carol Obermeier and Chuck Wineholt Fund
Established in 2006 by the Wygod Family to honor employees who make a difference at Parker. This fund provides partial tuition assistance for ten employee families whose children attend Parker.

Anonymous Financial Aid Fund
Established in 2006 by a Parker family to support financial aid at Parker.

Patrick Jack Acord Scholarship Fund
Established in 2007 by Pat’s classmates and friends, this fund provides a financial assistance for a Parker student who demonstrates an interest in theatre, sports, or student government.

Owen Christopher Hasler Memorial Fund
Established in 2007 by friends and family to celebrate the potential of young people. This fund provides scholarship support for students at the Lower School.

Corie Anne Jensen '91 Scholarship Fund
Established in 2008 by the family and friends of Corie, this fund provides support for a student who best demonstrates service to others and commitment to the community, as embodied by Corie.

Appel-Collins Family Military Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by Loreen Collins and Howard Appel, parents of Trevor Appel '16 and Troy Appel '18, this fund provides financial assistance to a Parker student(s) who is a dependent of military parent(s) serving on active duty in a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, or has been killed or injured in the line of duty.

Jones Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by William and Cheryl Sueing-Jones, the purpose of this fund is to provide need-based financial aid for underrepresented students who are academically qualified to gain admission to Parker. This fund encourages others to support the Parker endowment and reinforces the School's commitment to inclusivity.

Nativity Prep Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by Peter and Jocelyn Schultz, this fund provides financial assistance to deserving students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Preference for these scholarships is given to students who are graduates of Nativity Prep Academy.

Silberman Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 2013 by Jeff Silberman ’75 and Karen Foster Silberman, this fund will provide financial assistance for an economically disadvantaged student in the Upper School.

Steinert-Bosse Scholarship Fund
Established in 2013 by Jan Steinert and Richard Bosse, this fund celebrates diversity and inclusion at Parker, and provides financial assistance to support the students' learning experience, as well as advance the mission of the School.

Christian Stover Scholarship Fund
Established in 2013 by Kim and Denny Stover in honor of their son's legacy, this fund provides financial assistance for an Upper School student-athlete.

These scholarship endowment funds provide financial assistance to support the students' learning experience, as well as advance the mission of Parker.

Gamboa Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 2011 by David and Julie Gamboa.

Alpert & Von Behren Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by Alison Alpert and Jeff Von Behren '90.

Randall and Michael Clark Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by Randall and Michael Clark.

Matys-Gleason Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by Marc Matys and Robert Gleason, and Jack and Betty Gleason.

Rodriguez Family Financial Aid Fund
Established in 2012 by Eddie and Amy Rodriguez.

Southworth Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by Hamilton Southworth III and Mary Kathryn Kelley.

Spieker Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 2012 by Warren and Meghan Spieker.

Awards

Marites Quini '83 Fund
Established in 1983 in memory of Marites Quini '83, who passed away during her senior year at Parker. The Marites Quini Girl of the Year Award is given to an outstanding senior girl at Parker.

Douglas C. Crone Fund
Established in 1986 to honor Douglas C. Crone, former head of school from 1968-1986. This fund recognizes an outstanding Parker senior.

Jorge Walther-Meade Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 1988 to honor a former Board of Trustees member, this fund provides an award to an outstanding Parker junior. 

Eric Subin '84 Scholarship Fund
Established in 1989 in memory of Eric Subin '84, this fund recognizes an outstanding Parker junior student athlete.

Henry F. Lippitt, 2nd '29 Scholarship Fund
Established in 1994 to honor Henry F. Lippitt II, an alumnus and former Board of Trustees member, this fund recognizes an individual in the Parker community who truly distinguishes himself or herself in service to the School. 

Norman McLean Jr. Memorial Science Scholarship Fund
Established in 2000 by David '81 and Cynthia McLean, this fund provides a partial scholarship award to a promising sophmore or junior who has demonstrated exceptional talent in the study of the natural sciences.

Judi Sinnott Fund
Established in 2000 by Audrey Viterbi, Dan Smargon, Aaron Smargon '07 and Michael Smargon '13, this fund provides the Sinnott Merit Award given to an outstanding 5th grade student.

Smith Family Academic Achievement Fund
Established in 2000 by Reggie Smith, alumni parent and current grandparent, and her children, Rebecca '80 and Joel '82, this fund provides an award to a Parker junior who excels in mathematics and science, and demonstrates extraordinary citizenship.

Kirsten Rindal Scholarship Fund
Established in 2002 by Kirsten Rindal, former Francis Parker Lower School teacher and Board of Trustees member, this fund provides merit-based award for an outstanding 5th grade student.

Esther E Cleaves Fund
Established in 2004 by the estate of Esther Cleaves, for Esther who taught first grade for two decades at parker, this fund provides a partial scholarship to a rising 6th grade student who adds to the class both academically and socially, and demonstrates affection for the School. 

Chuck Freer Sportsmanship Award Endowment
Established in 2010 in memory of long-time tennis coach and mentor Charles H. Freer, this fund supports the annual Chuck Freer Sportsmanship Award for a Francis Parker Upper School student-athlete.
