Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is responsible for appointing and evaluating the Head of School, assuring the School’s financial stability, setting the institutional mission and board policies, and directing strategic planning.
The board delegates responsibility for managing day-to-day operations to the Head of School.
The board members are volunteers, nominated and elected by the Parker community. All members of the board serve on one or more of 11 committees: Alumni Relations, Audit, Board Governance, Campaign Steering, Communications, Compensation, Development Review, Diversity, Executive, Finance, and Strategic Initiatives and Academic Affairs.
Board business is conducted in accordance with approved bylaws, last revised in May 2016.
The board is devoted to best governance practices and won the University of San Diego's 2012-2013 Kaleidoscope Award for Exceptional Governance, which recognizes and celebrates excellence in nonprofit governance.
Francis Parker School is a private, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 from across San Diego County. Founded in 1912, the Lower School is located on the Mission Hills Campus with the Upper and Middle Schools on the Linda Vista Campus. Parker's mission is to inspire a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective and strength of character prepare them to make a meaningful difference in the world.
