Kate Deely Smith

Kate Deely Smith is the outgoing president of the Parker Parents Association. She has been active with the PA since 2007, serving as room parent for various grade levels and on several Gala committees. She has co-chaired the Lower School Halloween Carnival, and was Lower School PA Vice President from 2011-2013. A native San Diegan, Kate's community involvement includes Rady Children’s Hospital and UCSD Health Sciences Auxiliaries. Kate spent more than a decade working in media and communications. She was a writer and researcher for Parenting magazine and worked on the editorial side of several newspapers and magazines. After transitioning to public relations, she became a Public Affairs Representative for UCSD Health Sciences and School of Medicine. Kate graduated from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Communications from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. She and her husband, Jeff, an orthopaedic trauma surgeon, have four children at Parker: Avalon, Class of 2020; Jesse, Class of 2022; Eden, Class of 2024; and Cambria, Class of 2027.
Francis Parker School is a private, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 from across San Diego County. Founded in 1912, the Lower School is located on the Mission Hills Campus with the Upper and Middle Schools on the Linda Vista Campus.
