DEEP ROOTS

limitless outcomes

FRANCIS PARKER SCHOOL

has been fostering independent thinkers, fearless leaders, and engaged citizens since 1912–a time when San Diego’s population was only 39,000 people.

One century and 1.3 million residents later, Parker’s mission and values remain steadfast.

We know that school is more than a means to an end. Therefore, we are committed to cultivating active learners and changemakers who can solve tough problems, collaborate in multicultural environments, and harness the tools necessary to make a meaningful difference in the world.

WELCOME TO PARKER

Dear Families,

From Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12, the lessons learned within our classrooms and on our fields and stages prepare students to think beyond what they discover in their readings and lessons. Our goal is to help students connect their learning to the world around them such that they will come to understand their role and their responsibility in this ever-changing world.

We know that investing in your child’s education is one of the most important decisions you’ll make as a family. We hope as you explore our site, you’ll get to know the fabric of the Parker community: the programs that prepare our students for the commencement stage and beyond, and the vibrance of our diverse and caring community.

We’re thankful for your interest in Francis Parker School, and we look forward to seeing you on campus soon.

All the best,

Kevin Yaley

Head of School

Francis Parker School not only cultivates students’ interest and passion for learning but also sends them into the real world and lets them build themselves up to become better citizens and people. Parker is truly guiding generations of thinkers, builders, and doers who fulfill their aspirations and become the best people they can be.

AT-A-GLANCE

There is an intense hunger among today’s students…for a larger sense of purpose and direction; for an experience at school that speaks to them as human beings, not bundles of aptitudes; for guidance in addressing the important questions of life; for simple permission to think about these things, and the vocabulary in which to do so.
