Character Education
Middle School is a time of expanding awareness, which is mirrored by our grade-level themes of Self Awareness, Community Awareness, and Global Awareness. These themes play out throughout students’ academic experiences, including diverse topics such as:

- Global travel during Discovery Week
- Life Skills classes
- Regular trips to local nonprofits

Learning Through Reflection
At the end of each year, students present a reflection on their work and progress to their family and peers. Students set goals for themselves, gauge their progress during the year, and learn crucial communication and self-advocacy skills.
Middle school students work hard! By the time they head to Upper School, they will have completed a rigorous core curriculum, picked up a foreign language, practiced a musical instrument, developed effective study habits, and more.

Each year, Middle School hosts a divisional Renaissance Faire, complete with period-appropriate food, costumes, and a parade.
A test of determination and teamwork, the Ikidarod is a yearly tradition in which advisory classes team up to pull one of their peers a mile down the beach.
Parker's guitar classes aren't stodgy or boring. In addition to classical guitar, students learn to play modern (and retro) rock hits on electric guitars and basses. At the end of the year, they put on a rock concert for the community.
Why should Upper Schoolers have all the fun? Flag Football is one of the many Middle School level sports available.
