Student athletic Advisory council

SAAC: The Voice of the Student-Athlete

We are excited to continue the implementation of the Student Athlete Advisory Council! As a representative body of interscholastic athletic and club programs,  SAAC will be made up of student-athletes who choose to serve on this council and provide insight on the student-athlete experience.  In order to be effective and successful, SAAC participants should be eager and willing to be actively involved. The council will meet on a regular basis throughout the year with the director of athletics and other invited guests.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Council...

...is the official representation of and advocates for the student-athlete population to the faculty, staff, and administration.
 

...encourages athletic participation and support from the student community.
 

...partners with the athletic department to provide student-athletes with the best experience possible. 
 

...will utilize the P/ATH: Progress Through Athletics program to promote positive leadership and excellence at Parker.
 

Senior nights

Leaving a Lancer Legacy

Senior Night events recognize seniors for their hard work and dedication to their team throughout the season. We honor our seniors and give them the opportunity to thank and say goodbye to their coaches and teammates before they take the next step of their journey.

Senior nights typically occur the same day as the last regular season home game. Parker honors teams that play off-campus during the senior night of another on-campus team. Our senior student-athletes invite friends and family who have supported them throughout their high school sports careers to walk out onto the field together as an announcer reads a prewritten script for each senior. 

Parker provides each athlete with a personalized banner and lei, and we ensure a photographer is in attendance to capture the special moment.

Media Days

Parker aims to offer each student-athlete an elevated experience, including the opportunity to take team and individual photos at a bespoke seasonal media day. Media days are scheduled for each sport. Student-athletes attend with their teammates and coaches to take photos that will be provided to each team. Seniors have the opportunity to take senior photos. 
 

TEAM TRAVEL

Parker wants to offer teams the opportunity to travel so that our student-athletes can compete in other regions and receive more exposure to recruitment. Additionally, traveling as a team creates feelings of community and belonging and strengthens bonds between teammates.  

Parker currently has a tentative rotation for teams to travel outside of San Diego for competitive games. For our more competitive teams that are invited to invitationals, we will typically approve those pending budgets. If a coach wants to request travel, the Director of Athletics will screen the competition of the tournament.
