  • Summer Update #3 from Mr. Lang

    Dear Middle School Families,

With just one full week of summer left before school begins, faculty and staff have been hard at work preparing for our students. Last week we welcomed the newest members of the Parker Community at New Faculty and Staff Orientation days. Generally speaking, it is always exciting to welcome new members of the community, yet the Parker 101 course presented by our Head of School is one of my favorite pieces of the week. As our Head of School leads new faculty and staff through the history of Parker and the values that make us strong, the sense of pride in Parker, my colleagues, and those who have blazed the trail ahead of us filled me with gratitude, excitement, and passion for the upcoming year.

Following Parker 101, a panel of current faculty and staff presented their experience of serving at Parker. Listening to those with a tenure at Parker ranging from one to forty-four years, one could hear the history, values, and character of Parker come to life through individual stories and experiences. Parker is truly an amazing community.

As a parent of two Parker graduates, I can assure you with my “parent hat” on that Parker prepares students to thrive. With one child entering senior year in college and having just dropped off the other two weeks ago for freshman year, I have witnessed the value of a Parker education first hand. With the full faculty and staff returning this week, I can confidently speak for all of us that we are honored to share in the work of inspiring your child as a member of a diverse community of independent thinkers whose academic excellence, global perspective, and strength of character prepare to make a meaningful difference in the world.
