Parker Drama Club Shines at California Thespian Festival
Parker Drama Club returned from the California State Thespian Festival this past weekend with a first place win, a summer scholarship, and several superior ratings.
The festival, held March 29 to 31 in Upland, California, not only gave students the chance to perform on stage, but also provided students with opportunities to participate in workshops led by theatre professionals, audition for scholarships, and mingle with more than 1,200 other thespians from around California.
Drama Club students Vaughn Melbourn, Class of 2019; Kevin Kappes, Class of 2020; Erika Bruell, Class of 2019; Victor Kallett, Class of 2021; and Maria Burritt, Class of 2020, put their improvisation skills to the test and took first place in the Improv Spectacular.
Jack Morrill, Class of 2019, won a scholarship to participate in a special summer program and the following students won a superior rating for their performances:
