Inez began her teaching career in Morgantown, West Virginia, with 20 kindergarten students. After 11 years in two schools, she moved to Cleveland with Dr. Ted Thomas and taught second and fourth grade for three years at Fairfax Elementary in Cleveland Heights.
She later moved to San Diego and chose to be a stay-at-home mom for 16 years after the birth of daughters, Sydney (Duke '10) and Nicole (University of Pennsylvania '12).
She volunteered as a room parent and served on Parent-Teacher boards. She also was active in volunteer groups, serving on boards all over San Diego, such as the SD Medical Auxiliary; Children's Hospital Auxilliary; Susan G. Komen; the YMCA; Links, Inc.; Jack and Jill; Books, Balls, and Bytes; the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; the National Charity League; and the Christian Fellowship Church.
She was Inducted into the Academic Hall of Fame at West Virginia University in August 2011.
Inez says: "I am passionate about working at Parker because of the educational opportunities it provided for my children, and I want so much to give other children that same opportunity. Also, the people here are hardworking, intelligent, committed and caring individuals."
