The Class of 2012 had a few words of appreciation to pass along to the faculty at Francis Parker School the week of Commencement.
More than 100 alumni and parents attended the annual Networking Reception, held at the W Hotel on April 19, 2012.
This exhibition features work by current undergraduate students of University of San Diego's Department of Art, Architecture + Art History, with an accompanying selection of work by recent alumni.
On Saturday, March 17, 46 students from Parker's Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools competed in the San Diego History Day competition. Congratulations to the one Lower School student, 12 Middle School students and 27 Upper School students who won a berth at the California State competition April 27 - 29 in Riverside. Parker students also won a number of special awards. Special thanks to Carol Brown and the library staff who assisted with research and to many teachers in the Lower, Middle and Upper School who advised projects, helped with interviews, and attended the competition. Faculty coaches include Karen Marshall, Mary Ong-Dean, and Cherie Redelings.
Grammy nominated Jazz musician and Parker graduate Eldar Djangirov '05 will perform on February 10 & 11 at 8pm in Copley Symphony Hall. He is performing alongside the San Diego Symphony in their Winter Pops series as a special guest pianist.
Re-enrollment Agreements were emailed on Friday, January 27.

A beloved math teacher at Francis Parker School for 24 years before retiring in 2006, Linda Pope passed away on October 26, 2011.
Laura Roppé '88 is a singer, songwriter, and cancer survivor. Her music is honest and deeply personal, yet balanced with a touch of humor. Roppé will be performing at a highly-anticipated show locally at the Belly Up Tavern on November 2, 2011.
Parker Upper School photography and video teacher Mark Byrne was recently featured in a TOMS shoes promotion. He spoke about being a mentor to TOMS employee, Elena Chien, Parker '05, Tufts/Museum School of Boston '10.
Cassidy Lichtman, a graduate of Francis Parker School in 2007 and of Stanford University in 2011, was one of 12 players selected to represent the United States on the Women’s National Volleyball Team in the XVI Pan American Games at Guadalajara, Mexico. The competition will take place from October 14-30 at the Pan American Volleyball Stadium.

Jim Zimmerman has been named Head of Institutional Advancement at Francis Parker School. In this position, Zimmerman will manage all external relations, including Development, Marketing & Communications, and the School’s Centennial celebration. He will plan and coordinate all fundraising activities for the school, as well as oversee major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations.
