Robert Gleason

Robert received his A.B. in Economics from Princeton University and J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Evans Hotels, owner and operator of The Lodge at Torrey Pines, the Bahia Resort Hotel, and the Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa.  Robert is a longtime San Diegan, and is heavily involved in community and philanthropic activities, primarily in the areas of the arts, economic development, electoral politics, and LGBT and civil rights.  At Parker, Robert is co-chair of the Campaign Steering Committee and also serves on the Executive Committee.  He has served as a member of the Parker Development Committee. He also serves on the Los Angeles Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and as Chair of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.  He previously served as Chair of the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, Chair of the San Diego LGBT Community Center, Vice Chair of the Old Globe, Vice Chair of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund, and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Alumni Council of Princeton University and Co-Chair of its Committee on LGBT Alumni Affairs. Robert and his husband, Marc Matys, have two children — Max '24 and Chase '25.
Francis Parker School is a private, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 from across San Diego County. Founded in 1912, the Lower School is located on the Mission Hills Campus with the Upper and Middle Schools on the Linda Vista Campus.
