Girls Golf
Our golf team is in the midst of a five match win streak after their wins last week over Horizon and LJCD.  On Tuesday, September 13, the Lancers had their lowest team score of the young season in their victory over the Panthers.  Defending CIF champion, Brooke Seay led the way, firing a four under par 32 on the Friars Course at Riverwalk.  Also contributing to the Parker win was:  Madison Parker, Emma Buechler, Ana Russell, Sophia Carrillo and Teia Wright.
On Thursday, Emma Buechler and Madison Parker were the low scorers for the Lancers in their victory over LJCD.
Girls Volleyball
Our Girls Volleyball team lost to LJCD in their Coastal League opener on Friday, September 16.  Beatrix Thomas finished with 13 kills on 22 swings for a hitting percentage of .545.  She also led the team with 3 blocks.  Sophia Galdamez also had 13 kills and 12 digs.  Senior, Maggie Oswald had 6 kills and a team leading 13 digs.  Setter, Hannah Blood, finished with 32 assists and 10 digs.  As a team the Lancers missed just 5 of 63 serves for a serving percentage of 92.1.
The Lancers will have a big home match against La Costa Canyon this Friday, September 23, beginning at 5:15pm.
Our football game last Friday night was cancelled midway through the second quarter because of a medical emergency of our beloved teacher and friend, Paul Roudebush.  It was certainly extremely frightening for everyone who was at the game.  Fortunately, Paul is doing great.  He is thankful for all the love and support he has received from the Parker community.
On the season, the Lancers have been led by quarterback, Ryan Sanborn who has completed 47 of his 74 pass attempts for 495 yards.  Running back Ryan Zupkas leads the ground attack with 47 yards on 17 carries.  Receiver, Jonathan Gordon leads the team with 14 catches for 241 yards and 2 TD’s.
On defense, Cam Miller leads the team with 44 tackles and 2 sacks.  Freshman, linebacker, Sam Camposeco is second in tackles with 21 and 4 tackles for a loss.  Kicker Ryan Sanborn has made a 47 yard field goal and has blasted 6 of his 8 kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks.  He is also averaging 41.2 yards on his 18 punts.
The Lancers will be back in action this Saturday, September 24, against Escondido Charter at 12 noon on Lauer Field for Homecoming 2016.  Booths open at 10am.
Cross Country
Our Cross Country team competed at the Mt. Carmel Invitational on Saturday, September 17.  Our girls team was led by defending CIF champion, Brooke Trossen who finished second in a field of 109 runners.  She covered the 2.75 mile course at Morley Field in a time of 16:12.56.  Sophia Gamboa finished in 14th place in a time of 18:05.75.  In the junior race, Frannie Lang came in 16th place in a field of 125 runners.
The fastest time on our boys team occurred in the Junior Boys race where Tanner Penrose finished in 17th in a time of 17:27.57 over the 2.95 mile course.  The next two fastest times were turned in by seniors Ben Baranski and James Greer-Gentis.
Our teams will be back in action on Friday, 9/23 at the South Bay Invitational at Rohr Park.
Girls Tennis
Our tennis team played Point Loma High School on Tuesday, September 13.  The Lancers and Pointers were tied in sets  9-9.  Unfortunately the Lancers lost the tiebreaker which is decided by points scored 85-76.  In singles play, #1 Olia Javidi won two of her three sets.
In doubles action, the Lancer won 7 of 9 sets.  Our #1 doubles team of Avi Anklesaria/Neusha Kharrati won their three sets, 6-4,6-4, and 6-3.  Our #2 team of Caitlin Rowlings/Greer Sprague/Danica Du also swept their three sets.
The Lancers will play LJCD on Wednesday, 9/21 at the San Diego Tennis and Racquet Club at 3pm.
Boys Sand Volleyball
Our Boys’ Sand team opened up their season with a 3-2 victory over Cathedral Catholic on Thursday, 9/15 at Ocean Beach.  All eyes were on our #1 doubles team of Adam Gordon/David Barrett who won their match with an exciting 15-13 victory in game three. The other two wins were by Adam Nussbaum/Nick Gustafson and Spencer Thoene/Axel Youngdale. 
The Lancers will be back in action on Thursday, 9/22, against Pt. Loma, at 4pm at Ocean Beach.
