Parker Sports Wrap for the Week of December 12-17

Girls Soccer

Our girls are 4-2-2 after a busy week in which they played four games in the Holiday Jubilee Tournament.  The week started with a 1-1 tie against Canyon Crest on Wednesday, December 14.  The Lancer goal was scored by Rebecca Siegler off an assist from Brooke Trossen. On Thursday, the Lancers tied La Jolla 1-1.  The Vikings scored in the last minute of play.  May Pratt-Freedman scored the goal off of a pass from Lauren Washington.  

The Lancers finished up pool play with a 2-0 victory over Hilltop on Friday.  Lancer goals were scored by Rebecca Siegler and Lily Hunt.  Jeyan Kirtay had an assist for the Lancers.  Goalie, Kaelie Thomas had 6 saves in the shutout victory.  With the victory, the Lancers advanced to Saturday’s championship game that was played at University City.  The Lancers lost 1-0 in a rematch of their opening game with Canyon Crest.

The Lancers will travel to St. Margaret’s for the Tartan Soccer Shootout on Wednesday, December 28 for a 3:30pm. game against Cabrillo.

Boys Soccer

Our boys improved their record to 5-1-1 with their two games this past week.  On Tuesday, December 13, the Lancers tied Grossmont, 0-0. On Friday, the Lancers opened Coastal League play with a 3-0 road victory over Santa Fe Christian.  Lancer goals were scored by Santiago Morera, Alex Goskowicz, and Ryan Watson.  Goalies Tyler Dunne and Ben Krongard combined for the shutout victory.

The Lancers will be back in action on Friday, December 30, against Southwest, at 12 noon, on Lauer Field.

Girls Basketball

Our Girls’ Basketball team played just one game this past week.  On Saturday, December 17, the Lancers lost to Helix.  Giselle Alota finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists to lead the team.  Sophia Galdamez had 8 points and 11 rebounds.  Jula Harrington finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds. Meredith Wiggins returned to the line-up for the Lancers.

The Lancers will open the Crawford Tournament against Valhalla on Tuesday, December 20, at Crawford.

Boys Basketball

Our boys are 3-2 after their two home games this past week.  On Wednesday, December 14, the Lancers lost 64-53 to Steele Canyon.  Matt Brady finished with 21 points and 4 steals.  Alec White had 17 points and 12 rebounds.  On Friday, the Lancers lost 44-41 to Valhalla. Alec White led the team in scoring with 20 points and Matt Brady had 14.

The Lancers will be back in action Tuesday, December 27, against Apple Valley, at 11am,  in the Tri-City Christian Tournament.
