Parker Sports Wrap for the Week of January16 - 21

Girls Basketball

Our basketball team is 11-4 overall and 2-0 in the Pacific League after their three games this past week.  On Monday, January 16, the Lancers got behind early and ultimately lost to Grossmont.  Giselle Alota finished with 18 points and 6 rebounds.  Meredith Wiggins had 9 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals.  Freshman, Mackenzie Parker “pulled down” 6 rebounds.

On Tuesday, the Lancers made the long trek to Tri-City Christian where they defeated the Eagles 56-46.  The Lancers were down 23-8 at the end of the first quarter.  They stepped up their defense and closed the gap to three points at the half.  Giselle Alota led the team with 18 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals.  Meredith Wiggins finished with 17 points and 5 steals.  Emily Morfoot was 4 for 4 from the free throw line and finished with13 points.  Jula Harrington had a team leading 13 rebounds.

Eight Lancers scored in their 45-18 victory over Orange Glen on Friday, January 20.  Leading the way was Emily Morfoot who finished with 13 points and 3 assists.  The Lancers will travel to Pacific Ridge on Tuesday, January 24. Game time is 5:30pm.

Boys Basketball

Our boys team is 10-5 after their 67-55 loss to LJCD on Friday, January 20.  The fieldhouse was electric as these two long time rival battled it out on the court.  Jack Brady led the scoring with 17 points and he had 4 rebounds.  Alec White finished with 15 points and 5 rebounds.  Freshman, Miles Williams electrified the crowd with his exciting play.  He was 4 for 4 from the field, including 2 three pointers, and ended up with 10 points.  Jacob Jovien had 9 rebounds and a thunderous dunk that ignited the Lancer Legion.

The Lancers will travel to Cuyamaca College on Tuesday, January 24, where they will play #1 ranked Foothills Christian.

Girls Soccer

Our soccer team improved their record to 8-4-4 with their 2-0 victory over Escondido Charter on Wednesday, January 18.  The Lancers had opportunities to score in the first half but couldn’t find the back of the net.  They controlled the ball for most of the second half and ultimately scored two goals.  The goals were scored by Rebecca Siegler and Erin Shives.  Maya Pratt-Freedman assisted on one of the goals and has a team leading 16 points on the season.  Kaelie Thomas made 4 saves in goals for the shutout victory.

The Lancers will host Santa Fe Christian on Tuesday, January 24, at 6pm.

Boys Soccer

Our soccer team improved their record to 8-3-2 with two victories this past week.  On Wednesday, January 18, the Lancers travelled to San Diego Jewish Academy where they defeated the Lions, 4-1.  Alex Goskowicz finished with three goals and one assist.  The other goal was scored by Ryan Watson.

On Saturday, the Lancers defeated the Preuss School, 2-1.  Lancers goals were scored by T Will Mann and Santiago Morera.  Ryan Watson assisted on both goals.

The Lancers host Santa Fe Christian on Wednesday, January 25, at 6pm on Lauer Field.

Dance Team

Our dance team is incredible.  At Friday’s basketball game, the team performed three entertaining dances to the delight of the Lancer fans.
