Parker Sports Wrap for the Week of January 23 - 27

Girls Basketball

Our basketball team improved their record to 13-4 with two Pacific League wins last week.  On Tuesday, January 24, the Lancers travelled to Pacific Ridge and defeated the Firebirds, 62-30.  Giselle Alota finished with 23 points, 7 assists, and 5 steals.  Sofia Carrillo had 10 points and 6 rebounds.  Jula Harrington finished with 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 steals.  

On Friday, the Lancers hosted Maranatha Christian, in front of a loud “Girls Night Out” crowd.  The Lancers pulled away in the fourth quarter and defeated the Eagles 57-46.  Meredith Wiggin had 22 points, 9 points, and 4 steals.  Emily Morfoot made 2 three point shots and finished with 14 points. Jula Harrington “pulled down” a season high, 13 rebounds.

The Lancers will host Calvin Christian on Tuesday, January 21, at 5:30pm

Girls Soccer

Our soccer team is 8-5-5 after their two games last week.  On Tuesday, January 24, the Lancers tied Santa Fe Christian 3-3 on a very cold night on Lauer Field.  The temperature on the field at halftime was 49 degrees.  Lancer goals were scored by Lakme Caceres, Jeyan Kirtay, and Olivia Shaw.  Goalie, Kaelie Thomas made 6 saves.

On Friday, the Lancers lost a well played game, 2-0, to Bishops.  Both Knight goals came off of corner kicks.  The Lancers had chances to score but could not find the back of the net.  The Lancers will be back in action when they host Pacific Ridge on Monday, January 30, at 6:15pm.  This is a make-up for a game that was cancelled because of severe weather two weeks ago.

Boys Soccer

Our boys are 10-4-2 after their two Coastal League games this past week.  On Wednesday, January 25, the Lancers defeated Santa Fe Christian, 2-0.  Alex Goskowicz had a goal and a assist.  The other goal was scored by Santiago Marera.  Goalies, Tyler Dunne and Ben Krongard combined in the shutout victory.

On Friday, the Lancers travelled to Bishops, where they lost to the Knights, 2-1.  The Lancers goal was scored by Ryan Watson.

The Lancers will host the San Diego Jewish Academy on Monday, January 30, at 4:30pm.

Alex Goskowicz had a goal and an assist against Santa Fe Christian.

Boys Basketball

Our basketball team is 10-7 after their two Coastal League games last week.  On Tuesday, January 24, the Lancers travelled to Cuyamaca College where they lost to #1 ranked Foothills Christian.  Foothills was led by Jaylen Hands who will be playing at UCLA next year.  Alec White led the Lancers in scoring and rebounding.

On Friday, the Lancers travelled to Horizon Christian, where they lost, 53-40, to the Panthers.  Alec White finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds.  Jack Brady was 3 for 4 from the three point line and finished with 9 points.  Miles Williams continued his fine play, finishing with 5 assists and a steal.  

The Lancers will host Army-Navy on Tuesday, January 31, at 7pm.

Cheerleading

Our cheerleading team has been outstanding all Winter season led by captains, Margaret Jackson and Alexis Castillo.
