Parker Sports Wrap for the Week of May 8 - 13

Softball

On Tuesday, May 9th, Parker traveled to La Jolla Country Day for a Coastal League match-up against a strong Northwestern bound pitcher. It was a really good game with Parker scoring first when sophomore Gabby Martin doubled to score fellow sophomore Niki Kim. LJCD would battle back and put together one strong inning where they scored 4 runs. Freshman pitcher Katie Austin only threw 82 pitches on the day while LJCD's pitcher threw 134. While Parker battled and pushed LJCD, the final was 5-1 in favor of LJCD. Three sophomores had two hits each and they were: Niki Kim, Gabby Martin, and Danya Perket.

Parker returned home on Thursday, May 11th to face Escondido Charter on Senior Day. In the final regular season home game for the Lancers. It was a good day for the Lancers. We had great energy and made some amazing plays. Junior Jula Harrington made an amazing running and jumping catch in the outfield to take away a sure double and sophomore Annie Stanton made an equally impressive shoe string catch in right field to take away a hit as well. Niki Kim stole 5 bases on the day to go with 3 hits and stellar play at shortstop. Danya Perket continued her hot hitting with two RBIs. Katie Austin got the win, had two hits, and two RBIs. Our seniors concluded their impressive careers in style with Camryn Miyahira getting two hits while Emily Bowden had two RBIs, the save, and got the very last out of the game.

These Lady Lancers showed such heart and spirit in how they competed and how they improved from the beginning to the end of the season. Congratulations to everyone on good season. (Report by Coach Jamie Ogle)
