Both Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed in the CIF Section Championships at Morley Field on Friday and achieved outstanding results.
The Boys team came in first place, finishing with a championship winning score of 41. They were led by senior Tanner Penrose, who finished 2nd place overall witha time of 16:32. He was follwed closely by Freshman Spencer Ruff who finished in 17:05, which was fast enough to take 5th place.
The Girls team also performed exceptionally well, finishing second overall as team with a score of 79. Senior Avi Waldman was the first Lancer runner to cross the finish line, taking 7th place with a time of 20:31. Frannie Lang was close behind, finishing in 15th with a time of 20:52.
Both teams have qualified for the CIF State Championships which are to be held next weekend in Fresno. Congratulations to all of the runners on a truly outstanding season!
