Parker Sports Wrap 1/15 - 1/21

Girls Soccer -
The Girls Soccer team lost their only contest of the week, falling to Escondido Charter by a score of 2-1 on Thursday afternoon.  The Lancers lone goal came off the foot of junior Lily Hunt, and was assisted by senior Rebecca Siegler.  The loss dropped the team’s record to 10-7 on the season.  

The Lancers are in action twice next week, as they travel to take on Pacific Ridge on Tuesday 1/23 at 3:30pm, before hosting Santa Fe Christian on Thursday 1/25 at 5:30pm.


Boys Soccer -
The Boys Soccer team had another winning week, playing Orange Glen high school to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday, before coming from behind to knock off San Diego Jewish Academy 2-1 on Thursday night.

In Tuesday’s game, goals were scored by Seniors Ryan Watson and Ben Krongard, with assists coming from Joey Diamond-Pott and Luca Marcelli.  Both goals in Thursday’s victory came in the second half, the first off the foot of Ryan Watson, and the second on a penalty kick from senior captain Henry Diamond-Pott.

Next week, the Lancers host Pacific Ridge on Tuesday, 1/23 at 6pm, and then will travel to Santa Fe Christian on Thursday 1/25 at 3:15pm

Girls Basketball -
The Girls Basketball team split their 2 games this week.  After picking up a victory over Steele Canyon High School on Tuesday night, they fell on Friday to Santa Fe Christian.  

In Tuesday’s 52-44 victory, Senior Giselle Alota poured in 16 points and dished out 5 assists, while Freshman Jayleah Raymond added 11 points and 5 rebounds.

The Lancers will play twice this week, as they travel to take on O’Farrell Charter School on Wednesday, 1/24 at 4:30, and then will host Castle Park High School on Friday, 1/26 at 6pm.


Boys Basketball -
The Boys basketball team had a busy week, going 1-3 in their 4 games.  After defeating Kearny High School 63-54 on Tuesday, they lost to Orange Glen, Santa Fe Christian, and La Jolla in their remaining games.

In Tuesday’s victory. Sophomore Kimo Ferrari led the Lancers with 17 points and 11 rebounds.  Freshman Daryl Sledge led the Lancer offense both vs Orange Glen and Santa Fe Christian, with 18 points in each contest.  In Saturday’s loss to La Jolla, junior Jacob Jovien poured in 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds

The Lancers will play twice next week, traveling to take on Foothills Christian High School on Wednesday 1/24 at 7pm at Cuyamaca College, and then hosting Eastlake High School on Saturday 1/27 at 7pm.
