Parker Sports Wrap 2/12 - 2/18

Girls Soccer -
The Girls Soccer team played twice last week, first defeating Santa Fe Christian 3-0 on Tuesday, before playing Coastal League Champion Bishops to a scoreless tie on Thursday night.

In Tuesday’s victory, Freshman Natalie Beary and Hanna Mohedin each scored goals, along with Senior Elina Pepper.  Freshman Goalkeeper Erin Keith combined for 10 saves on the week, earning her two shutouts to anchor the Lancer defense.

With the regular season now over, the Lancers earned the #11 seed in the CIF San Diego Section Division 2 playoffs.  They will travel to Olympian high school to take on the 6th seeded Eagles on Tuesday, February 20th.  The winner earns the right to play Del Norte High School on Friday, February 23rd.  The Lancers have already played Olympian twice this season, splitting the two matches.

Boys Soccer -
The Boys Soccer team split their final two matches of the season, defeating Santa Fe Christian 2-0 at home on Tuesday night, before losing on the road to Bishops 2-1 on Thursday.

In Tuesday’s game, Seniors Ben Krongard and Ryan Watson both scored goals to culminate the senior night festivities, while Senior Goalkeeper Tyler Dunne earned the shutout victory.  Watson also scored the Lancers only goal in their loss to Bishop’s on the Thursday.

With the regular season complete, the team failed to qualify for the CIF San Diego Section Division 2 Playoffs.  They finished the year with a record of 6-8-7, with an impressive 5-1-4 record in league matches.

Girls Basketball -
The Girls Basketball team played twice last week, falling to Santa Fe Christian 87-67 in their final league game on Wednesday night before rallying to defeat Clairemont High School 54-46 in a non-league contest on Thursday.

Senior Giselle Alota scored a season high 30 points in Wednesday’s game.  Freshman Jayleah Raymond added 16 points and 5 rebounds.  In Thursday’s victory, Freshman Jazmin Brooks led all scorers with 18 points on 60% shooting from the field.  Senior Sofia Carrillo had 9 rebounds to help the Lancers secure the victory.

With the regular season complete, the Lancers earned the #8 seed in the CIF San Diego Section Division 2 playoffs.  They will host 9th seeded Lincoln High School in a 1st round playoff game on Wednesday, February 21st.  The game tips off at 7pm. The winner earns the right to take on the #1 seed, Carlsbad High School, on Saturday February 24th at 7pm.

Boys Basketball -
The Boys Basketball team played twice last week, losing two closely contested league games.  They fell to Santa Fe Christian 73-66 on Wednesday night, before falling to San Diego’s number 1 ranked team, Foothills Christian, on Friday night by a final of 84-76.

In Wednesday’s game, Sophomore Kimo Ferrari was one assist shy of a triple-double, posting 19 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists.  Junior Max Guinn had a double-double of his own, adding18 points and 10 rebounds. In Friday’s game, five Lancers scored in double figures, with Freshman Daryl Sledge and Junior Matt Bender leading all Lancer scorers with 15 points a piece.

With the regular season complete, the Lancers earned the #9 seed in the CIF San Diego Section Division 2 Playoffs, and will travel to take on the #8 seed, Serra High School, on Tuesday, February 20th.  The game tips off at 7pm.  The winner will travel to face top seeded Mongomery High School on Friday, February 23rd.
