Grade 4 Students sell handmade products for charity in annual Business Sale

Students in Grade 4 held their annual Business Sale yesterday, May 23 at the Mission Hills Campus. More than a dozen student-made products were set out for sale in the courtyard, where fellow Lower School students could shop around for their favorites. Products included colorful jars of slime, a biodegradable planter with seedlings inside and mini tye-dye “cannons.”
Grade 4 students have been learning the ins and outs of becoming successful entrepreneurs for several months in preparation for yesterday's sale. They learned pertinent vocabulary, designed prototypes of their products and pitched those ideas to potential investors (a.k.a. Dr. G. and a group of Grade 5 students!) Once they secured their funding, students headed to the Design Lab for production.
All of the students’ hard work culminated in the Business Sale, but their work isn’t done yet. They must now pay back their initial investors and decide which charity they want to donate their profits to.
