Junior Caroline Garay will represent Parker in Girls Golf Regional Championships
Caroline Garay, Class of 2019, is moving on to regionals after placing 6th in the CIF San Diego Section Girls Golf Championships earlier this month.
Caroline finished at even par for the two-day, 36-hole competition, tying for 6th out of 101 total golfers. Her score qualifies her for the CIF Southern California Regional Girls Golf Championships to be held Thursday, Nov. 9 at the Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside. Her score, combined with a season of great play, earned her a spot on the first team all-CIF. Caroline will be competing in the individual competition.
Fox Sports caught up with Caroline after the final day of the San Diego Section tournament on Nov. 2 for an interview. She told the news station she took it “hole by hole” in order to finish among the top golfers in San Diego.
“I’m just happy to be advancing and I’m really lucky to be going to regionals for the second year,” she told Fox Sports, adding that she hopes to make it to state after Thursday’s regional competition.
Caroline would be the first golfer from Parker to make it to state, should she advance after regionals.
