Middle School Art Students Shutout Competition in the K-8 3D Art section of the 2018 YAM
Congratulations to Middle School art students: Nicholas Jordan, Class of 2022; Alexandria Fennell, Class of 2022; Shea McGrath, Class of 2023; and Ian Brady, Class of 2024; who dominated the K-8 3D Art section of the 2018 Youth Art Month (YAM) exhibition.
Never before has Parker won a whole section of YAM. Nicholas’s beautifully carved piece called “Elephant” took First Place. Alexandria’s unique unicorn headdress called “Magic is Real” placed Second. Shea and Ian both turned two meticulous wooden bowls putting them in Third Place and Honorable Mention respectively.
Middle School student Helena Vargas, Class of 2022, won Third Place for her painting called “Dragon” in the Grade 6 to 8 2D Art section. Upper School student, Jack Allen, Class of 2020, won Honorable Mention in the Grade 9-12 3D Art section for his wood-turned table lamp.
YAM is an annual K-12 juried art exhibit including students from all over San Diego County.
Francis Parker School is a private, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 from across San Diego County.
