ParkerCares: Parent Education at Parker

ParkerCares is the name of the Parents Association's parent education program. Parker Parents are encouraged to attend ParkerCares events.

What is ParkerCares?

ParkerCares is a PA committee that works with the School to meet parent education needs at Parker.

At the monthly PA General Meetings, the ParkerCares committee books speakers to inform parents about any number of topics, ranging from parenting techniques, technology and cyber-space awareness, dealing with teens, parent wellness, and more. Some events are school-wide and others focus on a specific division or grade.

What is WeCare?

The Parker Parents Association is a founding member of WeCare, a consortium of San Diego independent schools offering several parent education events each year to address the most pressing social issues facing parents and their children. WeCare's mission is to promote integrity, responsibility, ethical behavior and wellness in our school communities through ongoing collaboration and education. The schools currently participating include Francis Parker School, La Jolla Country Day School, Pacific Ridge School, The Bishop's School, Warren Walker School, San Diego Jewish Academy, Del Mar Pines School, The Grauer School, and Fusion Academy. WeCare events are hosted by one of the consortium schools and are free to the community. Topics revolve around how to raise thoughtful, self-reliant children who are able to handle peer and social pressure at various stages of life. WeCare events participants should expect to take away with them important information, a stronger sense of community, and at times, a completely new perspective. Please join us!
