Parker Alumni Connection

November 2022

From the Alumni Office

As the season shifts to fall, our thoughts go to traditions with family and friends. We just celebrated a favorite Parker community tradition--Homecoming. This year's event was a huge hit thanks to the efforts of the Parents Association Homecoming Chairs, and Parker alums, Bell Drouin ’89 and Erika Otto ’85. Belle and Ericka joined faculty, staff, students, and parents to keep beloved traditions like the student club booths, the Lower School parade, the presentation of the Homecoming Court, and football under the Friday night lights, alive and well. Thank you to the alumni that stopped by the Alumni table to say hello. I loved meeting you!

If you missed Homecoming this year, there are several opportunities to engage with your Parker family in the upcoming months. I hope to meet many more of you soon!

Cheers,

Mary Cook

Class of 1987 Reunion

Members of the Class of 1987 celebrated their 35 Year Reunion! This fun-loving group gathered in October thanks to the wonderful planning of "Class President for Life" Char Ramey Hutchins and host Holly Bauer, who opened her lovely home to her classmates.

Class of 2002 Reunion

Remembering Rosemary (Rosie) Rutherford

It is with heavy hearts that we share that retired faculty member, past parent and past grandparent, Rosie Rutherford passed away on Sept. 18, 2022. Rosie taught 2nd grade at Parker for 31 years and enjoyed teaching with her best friend, Joan Maher. The Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held on Nov. 5 at 11am at the Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church.
