FIRST® Tech Challenge
FIRST® Tech Challenge is a FIRST program that engages 6th-12th graders, helping them to think as engineers, incorporating collaboration, community outreach, coding, and problem-solving. Starting in early September, teams begin to tinker and evolve their robot designs for the seasonal competition. Approaching November, qualifying competitions start and lead towards the world championship in April, showcasing the best of the best.
We have several FTC teams (State Pattern #33418, State Machine #32005, Steady State #26471, Solid State #24041, and State Space #32007), all of which are mentored by Overclocked FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) student members. With this approach, rising middle schoolers have the opportunity to form bonds with older students and get exposure to what their futures in robotics could hold.
