Student Athletic Training Program

This class teaches students about injury management from an Athletic Training viewpoint.  Students learn the skills necessary to assist the Athletic Trainer after school with emergency care, taping, anatomy, evaluations, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all sports.

Along with learning in the Athletic Training room daily, students are also able to be on the sidelines with our Athletic Trainer getting first-hand experience with on-field injury management. PE credit can be received as the time commitment is sometimes greater than an individual sport.

Being a student Athletic Trainer will help to not only build new medical skills but also will help with communication, time management, and interpersonal skills that can carry you through life.

Athletics Mission Statement

At Parker, we believe that athletics is an integral and valuable component of our students’ overall educational experience. We believe that student-athletes benefit not only physically and emotionally by participating and competing in sports, we believe that one of our fundamental responsibilities is to help student-athletes develop critical skills (e.g., teamwork, resilience, leadership, tenacity, etc.) that promote success in the classroom, in college and in life.
